Netflix May Be Developing Original Watergate Series With George Clooney

According to sources at The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is developing a new miniseries based on the Watergate scandal. The series is being developed by George Clooney and Bridge of Spies writer Matt Charman, and will be eight episodes. Sources say that the series will focus on the chief figures wrapped up in the scandal.

Clooney's Smokehouse Pictures will produce Watergate, and Charman will write the script. This is the second of two big limited series coming from Smokehouse, the first being a Catch-22 adaptation that Clooney is set to star in and direct.
