Neil Patrick Harris led A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS To End After Third Season

According to TV GUIDE, A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS produced by Netflix will end after it's third season. The show, starring Neil Patrick Harris, is adopted from the book series of the same name written by Lemony Snicket.

Neil Patrick Harris told TV Guide "We've intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books," Harris continues. "We've added a few characters that aren't in the books, we've added some songs that you probably couldn't put into the books, but for the most part we're sticking to the structure of what already worked."

Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, or simply A Series of Unfortunate Events, is an American black comedy-drama television series from Netflix, developed by Mark Hudis and Barry Sonnenfeld, based on the children's novel series of the same name by Lemony Snicket. It stars Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, K. Todd Freeman, and Presley Smith.

The first season premiered on January 13, 2017 consisting of eight episodes and adapts the first four books of the series. The series was renewed for a second season in March 2017, intended to consist of ten episodes that adapt books five through nine of the novel series, and was renewed for a third season a month later, which is expected to adapt the remaining four books. The second season is scheduled to be released on March 30, 2018.
