Neil Patrick Harris Headed to INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO

Tony winner Neil Patrick Harris will soon sit down with James Lipton for INSIDE THE ACTORS STUDIO ahead of hosting this year's Academy Awards, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The 21st season of the show will kick off with Harris' episode on Feb. 22, airing on Bravo.

Harris, who will host this year's Oscars ceremony, recently appeared in an arc on FX's American Horror Story: Freak Show. The actor working on Disney's The Good Dinosaur and last appeared on the big screen in Gone Girl and A Million Ways to Die in the West. Harris is well known for his portrayal of 'Barney Stinson' in the long-running sitcom How I Met Your Mother. He recently finished a Tony-winning run in Broadway's Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Among his other theatre credits are Assassins, Proof and Cabaret.

From 1994 to the present, more than 200 actors, directors and writers have joined 'Inside the Actors Studio' in creating what many consider the definitive craft archive of our time.

James Lipton has sat down with more than 180 of the world's most accomplished artists -- ranging from actors and directors to musicians and comedians -- for penetrating, fascinating interviews. Lipton's studious research and enlightened curiosity has inspired his guests to open up and confess their deepest thoughts about their craft.

The thirteen-time Emmy Award-nominated series premiered with guest Paul Newman, an Actors Studio alumnus and former president (1982-1994). Hosted by Pace University, each episode is taped before an audience of students at the Michael Schimmel Center of the Arts and is now broadcast in 125 countries. In addition to his duties as host and executive producer, Lipton is also the Dean Emeritus of the Actors Studio.
