Natalie Portman to Direct and Star in Drama About Dueling Advice Columnists

Natalie Portman is set to direct and star in a drama about dueling advice columnists, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Portman will play dual roles as twins Esther and Pauline Friedman, the writers behind the Ann Landers and Dear Abby columns. The sisters had a bitter professional rivalry but led personal lives that were equal parts competitive, jealous, successful and loving.

Showtime's The Affair producer, Katie Robbins will the feature that will be produced by Peter Saraf and Dani Melia.

Portman will be premiering two films at the 43rd Toronto International Film Festival: Xavier Dolan's The Death and Life of John F. Donovan and pop star drama Vox Lux.
