NBCUniversal Names Jennifer Karie VP, Business Affairs

Jennifer Karie has been named Vice President, Business Affairs, NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution, it was announced today by Robert Fitzpatrick, EVP, Business Affairs, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution. Karie will continue to report to Inge Van Herle, SVP, Business Affairs, NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution.
Karie's promotion to Vice President recognizes her substantial contribution to the division particularly by taking on primary business affairs related responsibilities for the Division's advertising sales group as well as increased supervisory responsibilities for NBCU's first-run talk shows. Jennifer also will continue to manage contractual negotiations for first-run Syndicated programs and development projects and will continue to advise our programming, sales, advertising sales, branded entertainment, marketing and digital teams on rights, regulatory and contractual matters. "Jennifer took it upon herself to create a business affairs specialty within the department to address the growing complexity and volume of advertising sales issues for the division, especially in the brand integration area. And with the continued expansion of our first run show roster, Jen has provided invaluable guidance, training and mentoring to our more junior staff members," said Fitzpatrick. "I am excited to take on more responsibility in my new, expanded role," says Karie. "It is a privilege to be able to continue working with Rob, Inge and the rest of the team at NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution."The NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution division is responsible for the sales and distribution of NBCUniversal product to broadcast television within the United States. The division develops and produces first-run programming and distributes these shows, along with off-network content, to broadcast syndication. Current first-run broadcast Syndicated programming includes "Access Hollywood," "Access Hollywood Live," "Maury," "Steve Harvey," "The Jerry Springer Show," "The Steve Wilkos Show," "Trisha Goddard" and weekend Syndicated series "On the Money with Maria Bartiromo," as well as "The Meredith Vieira Show" debuting in Fall 2014. Current off-network programming includes "30 Rock," "House," "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "Monk" and "The Office."
