NBC Wins Primetime Ratings Week of 12/23

NBC has won the Primetime ratings week of Dec. 23-29 among the Big 4 networks in adults 18-49, total viewers and every other key measure, with "Sunday Night Football" ranking #1 among Primetime programs on those networks in every key ratings category.

NBC has now finished #1 or tied for #1 nine weeks in a row and during 13 of 14 weeks so far this season, finishing #2 only once during a week in which FOX carried World Series coverage on four of seven nights.

NBC's top series for the week in 18-49 were: "Sunday Night Football" (#1), Monday's "Sing-Off" finale and Thursday's "Women of SNL" encore (tied for #8) and Tuesday's "It's a Wonderful Life" and Friday's "Dateline NBC" encore (tied for #19). Rankings exclude sports pre- and post-game shows.

"Sunday Night Football" ranked #1 among Primetime shows on the Big 4 in every key category - adults, men and women 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers - as well as kids 2-11 and teens 12-17.

Through 14 weeks of the season, NBC ranks #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX in adults 18-49 and is also #1 in every other key demo - adults, men and women 18-34; men and women 18-49; and adults, men and women 25-54.

NBC leads the season by 0.5 of a rating point (with a 3.1 vs. second-place CBS's 2.6), the biggest margin for any network 14 weeks into the season in 11 years (since NBC led by 0.7 of a point in 2002). NBC is the only Big 4 network so far this season to be equaling its 18-49 rating of one year ago.

In total viewers, NBC ranks #2 for the season with an average of 9.7 million viewers, which is its biggest overall audience 14 weeks into the season in seven years (since 2006, 10.1 million). Versus one year ago, NBC is up 11% season to date in total viewers (9.7 million vs. 8.8 million).
