NBC Sports Special KNIGHT FEVER Chronicles Improbable Story of Vegas Golden Knights Inaugural Season

With the 2018 NHL Playoffs on the horizon, NBC Sports chronicles the improbable RISE and triumph of the NHL expansion Vegas Golden Knights with a 30-minute television special entitled "KNIGHT FEVER" set to debut Tuesday, April 3, on NBCSN, following the network's coverage of Bruins-Lightning.

"KNIGHT FEVER" vividly captures the remarkable journey of the Golden Knights, led by goaltender Marc-André Fleury, journeyman Jonathan Marchessault, veteran Deryk Engelland, and a group of newcomers, who tallied the most wins (48), points (103), home victories (27) and road victories (21) by a team in its inaugural season in league history. With a win over the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, March 26, Vegas became the third expansion team since 1968-69 - and first to start from scratch - to clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"This is an inspirational story of a franchise that continues to defy the longest of odds, whose unimaginable success helped lift a grieving community in the wake of an unspeakable tragedy," said Mark Levy, Senior Vice President, Original Productions and Creative, NBC Sports Group. "Now on the cusp of history, the Golden Knights have undoubtedly become one of the greatest sports stories in recent memory, and this special captures their remarkable journey."

The evocative special recounts the brief history of the franchise, including the widely-anticipated team name and Logo reveal outside of T-Mobile Arena in November 2016; the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft that brought Fleury, a former key cog in the Pittsburgh Penguins' dynasty, to the Golden Knights; and the emotional home-opener that took place in October just nine days after tragedy struck the Las Vegas community, claiming 58 lives.

"KNIGHT FEVER" features interviews with Vegas owner Bill Foley, general manager George McPhee, Fleury, Engelland and James Neal, among others.
