TVGuide.com reports that NASHVILLE's executive music producer T Bone Burnett will not return for the second season of the ABC musical drama.

Burnett was behind many of the country songs which were featured in the series starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. According to the report, the producer always intended to Exit the show following the freshman season.

In a statement, Burnett's manager commented, "His slate of other film, television and recording projects would have made it impossible for him to return for a second season. He became close to many of the actors on Nashville, and wishes all of them - as well as the show's producers, writers and crew - all the best with the coming season."

Buddy Miller will take over as the executive music producer role for the upcoming season.
