According to an article on MTV's website, THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY director Francis Lawrence said he and others are considering more films beyond Suzanne Collins's original trilogy.

"I just think that one has to go into that world carefully," Lawrence told MTV. "Because I think a huge part of what makes the stories great is that it was really built on this idea of the consequence of war, and you have an amazing character like Katniss at the center of it. And so to just say, 'Oh, we're still in THE HUNGER GAMES world', I think is really risky, and you need to make sure that you have something new to say, and either new characters need to be created that are just as compelling as Katniss."

He continued: "It's a tricky thing, but I'm definitely open to talking about it, and I think everybody's thinking about it. Everybody loves the world and the ideas."

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY- PART 1 stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks,Woody Harrelson,Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Stanley Tucci, Jeffrey Wright, Natalie Dormer, Sam Claflin,Jena Malone, and Willow Shields.

The worldwide phenomenon of THE HUNGER GAMES continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny StrongandPeter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson's Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik.
