Melissa McCarthy Named 'CinemaCon 2013 'Female Star of the Year'

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 'Bridesmaids' star Melissa McCarthy has been named CinemaCon's 2013 'Female Star of the Year.'

Commented Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon, "With an incredible comedic timing that has had audiences around the world falling out of their seats laughing, Melissa McCarthy has proven to be the new queen of comedy. We could not be more thrilled to be able to honor her as this year's 'CinemaCon Female Star of the Year.'"

The actress received an Oscar nomination for her role in the blockbuster comedy 'Bridesmaids.' She will soon be seen in 'The Heat' opposite Sandra Bullock. The film arrives in theaters on June 28th.
