Matthew Broderick to Star in Neil LaBute's DIRTY WEEKEND Film

Screendaily.com reports that Matthew Broderick and Alice Eve are set to star in Neil LaBute's comedy drama DIRTY WEEKEND. The film, written by LaBute, is currently in production on location in New Mexico.

The film follows a businessman, (Broderick), "who finds himself delayed in a city where a year earlier a few too many drinks led to an unexpected encounter, the half-remembered details of which have haunted him since. Accompanied by his co-worker, (Eve), he sets out to figure out what really happened that night."

Duncan Montgomery and Tiller Russell will produce along with Joey Stewart.

Said K5 studio co-founders Oliver Simon and DanielBaur, "Neil is that rare writer/director with an ability to entertain and amuse while revealing the parts of ourselves we'd prefer to sweep under the rug."

Broderick recently starred in the Tony-nominated Best Musical NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, a new musical comedy directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes) featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis). The production is currently playing on Broadway at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).

The actor made his stage debut at 17 in Horton Foote's On Valentine's Day opposite his father, James Broderick. His Off-Broadway credits include Torch Song Trilogy (OCC, Villager Award) and The Widow Claire. He has appeared on Broadway in Brighton Beach Memoirs (Tony, OCC, Theatre World awards), Biloxi Blues, How to Succeed in Business (Tony, DD, OCC awards), Night Must Fall, Taller Than a Dwarf, The Producers (Tony, DD, OCC nominations), Roundabout's The Foreigner and The Philanthropist.

Among his many films are Deck the Halls, Max Dugan Returns, WarGames, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Biloxi Blues, Glory,The Freshman, The Lion King (voice of Simba), and the film adaptation of The Producers. On TV, Broderick has appeared in The Music Man on ABC and Master Harold and the Boys on Showtime.
