Marcia Gay Harden to Star in USA's 'Royal Pains'

According to a report by EW.com, Marcia Gay Harden is set for a multi-episode arc on the upcoming season of USA's 'Royal Pains', which will premiere on June 3.  Harden will be playing Dr. Elizabeth Blair, a surgeon and Board member at Hamptons Heritage Hospital, and an enemy turned mentor of Jill's. 'Royal Pains' airs every Thursday at 9PM on USA.

Harden most recently appeared on Broadway last year in God of Carnage, for which she earned a Tony Award for 'Best Actress in a Play.'  Harden debuted on Broadway in 1993 as Harper Pitt  in Tony Kushner's Angels in America. The role earned her critical acclaim and she received a Tony Award nomination for 'Best Featured Actress in a Play.'

Harden's film credits include: "Into the Wild", "Home", "The Maiden Heist",and 'Christmas Cottage". She was was awarded the 2000 Academy Award for 'Best Supporting Actress' for her portrayal of painter Lee Krasner in Pollock, and  she was again nominated three years later in the same category for Mystic River.

 In 2009, she appeared as a regular on the critically-acclaimed FX series Damages as a shrewd corporate attorney, opposite Glenn Close and William Hurt. Harden received a 2009 Emmy Award nomination for her role in The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler, a TV film also starring Oscar winner Anna Paquin.

Royal Pains is about a young E.R. doctor who, after being wrongly blamed for a patient's death, moves to the Hamptons and becomes the reluctant "doctor for hire" to the rich and famous. When the administrator of the local hospital asks him to treat the town's less fortunate, he finds himself walking the line between doing well for himself and doing good for others.
