MODERN FAMILY Cast Agrees on Salary Renegotiations; Drops Lawsuit

Deadline.com reports that the cast of ABC's MODERN FAMILY has closed a deal with 20th Century Fox TV after threatening a law suit against the studio. After two months of negotiations, six cast members, including Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Ed O'Neill and Sofia Vergara have dropped their lawsuit after negotiationg new salaries.

According to the report, the actors may now earn as much as $180,000 per episode, up from the $65,000 an episode they previously received. They will also receive a piece of the show's lucrative "back-end."

In addition, the actors have agreed to add an additional year to their current seven-year contracts. The show's co-creator, Steve Levitan, hinted at the breaking news during an ABC all-star party, saying, “I think it will be settled extremely shortly, maybe even before I get my car,” He later shared, “I’m extremely relieved that the distraction is over, and I’m happy to get back to work on Monday.” 

Filming on the fourth season premiere is set to begin today. Steve Levitan is expected to direct the episode.
