MACY'S 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR on NBC Tops Big 4 Networks Combined

NBC dominates primetime with the MACY'S 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR and the 10 p.m. "Macy's" recap ranking as the #1-2 telecasts of the night on the Big 4 in every key demographic. NBC beats the other Big 4 nets combined for the night in 18-49. NOTE: There were local preemptions for local fireworks coverage on each of the Big 4 networks.

"Macy's 4th of July Fireworks® Spectacular" (1.3/7 in 18-49, 6.4 million viewers overall from 8-10 p.m. ET) is the #1 show of the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers and other key measures. Generates dramatic growth throughout its two hours, with this track: 0.9, 1.0, 1.2, 1.9. Grows +111% from its first half-hour to its fourth in 18-49 rating (0.9 to 1.9) and +95% or more than 4.6 million persons in total viewers (4.9 million vs. 9.6 million). Delivers the event's second-highest 18-49 rating in four years (second-best since Thursday, July 4, 2013, 1.5), trailing over that span only the Monday, July 4, 2016 telecast, also a 1.5). Scores as the event's second-most-watched telecast in four years (second-best since Thursday, July 4, 2013, 7.181 million), trailing over that span only the Monday, July 4, 2016 coverage, 7.034 million). The year-ago special averaged a 1.5 rating in 18-49 and . 7.034 million total viewers.

A recap telecast of "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular" (1.1/6 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall from 10-11 p.m. ET): Pending updates, is currently up +22% versus the year-ago 10 p.m. recap in 18-49 (1.1 vs. 0.9) and +19% in total viewers (5.068 million vs. 4.251 million). Is close to rounding up to a 1.2 (currently reporting a 1.142 in these prelim fast-affiliate ratings). Ranks as the #2 show of the night in adults 18-49 and is currently #1, tied for #1 or #2 in every other key demographic, pending updates

In Late-Night Metered Markets Tuesday Night: In Nielsen's 56 metered markets, household results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 2.0/6 with an encore telecast; "Late Show with Stephen Colbert," 1.8/5 with an encore; and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 1.2/3 with an encore.

In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," 0.8/5 with an encore; "Late Show," 0.3/2 with an encore; and "Jimmy Kimmel Live," 0.3/2 with an encore.

From 12:35-1:05 a.m. ET, ABC's "Nightline," averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households and a 0.2/2 in 18-49 in the Local People Meters.

From 12:35-1:35 a.m. ET, "Late Night with Seth Meyers" (1.1/4 in metered-market households with an encore) beat CBS's "Late Late Show" (0.9/3 with an encore). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, "Late Night" (0.4/3 in 18-49 with an encore) topped "Late Late Show" (0.2/1 with an encore).

At 1:35 a.m., "Last Call with Carson Daly" averaged a 0.6/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.2/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
