Longhorn Network swings into baseball conference play this week with extended coverage plans for marquee matchups and debut plans for the new head coach's show, as the team plays out the remainder of the schedule.

LHN will surround today's Texas A&M at Texas baseball game with a special Texas Baseball GameDay pre-game show at 6 p.m. featuring Lowell Galindo, Keith Moreland and Greg Swindell, prior to the network's game coverage at 6:30 p.m. Texas A&M at Texas is one of four marquee matchups airing on LHN that Texas Baseball GameDay is highlighting this season. The show previously preceded the UCLA game and will also air prior to Oklahoma on April 8 and West Virginia on May 19.

In addition to the Texas Baseball GameDay shows slated, the Longhorns' new Head Coach David Pierce will sit down with LHN every Wednesday in studio for Game Plan with David Pierce at 8 p.m. CT, starting March 29.

The 2017 season marks UT's first season led by Coach Pierce, who comes to Texas from Tulane, where he captured the university's first conference championship since 2005. Throughout this 27-year coaching career, Pierce and his teams have qualified for the NCAA tournament in each of his five years as a head coach, and including his time as an assistant.

LHN closes out the week with the team's conference schedule on Friday, March 17, with Texas Tech, one of 19 matchups yet to be played on LHN's 32 game schedule.

Galindo, Moreland and Swindell will continue to provide analysis throughout the season. Moreland, an outfielder, helped the Longhorns reach three consecutive College World Series, including winning the CWS in 1975. He went on to play Major League Baseball from 1978-1989, including winning a WORLD SERIES with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1980.

Swindell, a pitcher, played in the Majors from 1986-2002, including an All-Star appearance in 1989 and a WORLD SERIES title in 2001 with the Arizona Diamondbacks. At Texas, he was the 1985 Baseball America National Player of the Year, a three-time finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and helped the Longhorns reach the CWS in 1983, 1984, and 1985. Moreland had his number retired in 2010 by Texas, while Swindell, who shared the same number as Roger Clemens, was honored by the university in 2009.
