Lester Holt to Anchor NBC NEWS Coverage of President Obama's State of the Union Address

On Tuesday, January 12, NBC News will provide complete coverage and analysis of President Barack Obama's final STATE OF THE UNION address and the Republican response from Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC). The broadcast will begin at 9:00pm ET (6:00pm PT) across the NBC television network and will stream live on NBCNews.com.

"NBC Nightly News" anchor Lester Holt will anchor live from Washington, DC, joined on set by "Meet the Press" moderator and NBC News political director Chuck Todd and NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell. The coverage will also feature NBC News senior White House correspondent Chris Jansing, NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent Kelly O'Donnell inside the House chamber, NBC News correspondent Hallie Jackson live from New Hampshire and both NBC News White House correspondent Kristen Welker and NBC News correspondent Katy Tur live from Iowa.

Throughout the speech, NBCNews.com will provide the latest news and analysis from the NBC News political unit and fact checks from PolitiFact.

On Twitter, @NBCNews will live-tweet the address and NBC News journalists and the NBC News political unit will post real-time reporting and analysis using the hashtag #NBCPolitics. Video highlights of the speech will be posted on Instagram and Facebook.

Earlier Tuesday, TODAY will broadcast an unprecedented, live two-hour show from inside the White House.Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales and Carson Daly will go behind-the-scenes at the executive mansion to give viewers a rare inside look. Additionally, President Obama will sit down with Lauer in an exclusive interview, and Vice President Biden will sit down with Guthrie for an exclusive interview.
