TELEMUNDO selected Intocable, the internationally acclaimed, award winning and one of the of most influential Regional Mexican music groups, to be honored with the special "El Poder en Ti" (The Power in You) award at the 2016 PREMIOS TU MUNDO (Your World Awards) to be broadcast live Thursday, August 25th, at 8PM/7c from the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The "El Poder en Ti" award honors artists who use the unlimited power of their fame for good, through their art and generosity; artists who are willing to create, give and be an example, a Super Hero not only in the music industry but especially in the community.
Intocable has a solid history of humanitarian endeavors, committing their time and resources to numerous causes at a local, national and international level. Some of the most noteworthy includes its work as ambassadors of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, not only helping to raise awareness, but also donating $1 Million for cancer research and the care of children with cancer. The group's dedication to children's causes also extends to its work with Toys for Tots and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Intocable has also been human rights and social change advocates as well as immigration rights activists for decades, recording the song "Mojado" with Ricardo Arjona to shine light into the plight of immigrants crossing the border. In 2008, it joined forces with Voto Latino as ambassadors to promote U.S. citizens of Hispanic heritage to exercise their right to vote. Its new album "Highway," which released this past June, includes the song "Día 730" to raise awareness of the femicide cases in Juarez, Mexico.

The highly anticipated awards show will feature performances by honoree band Intocable as well as other music stars including Daddy Yankee, Chino & Nacho, DJ Juan Magan, Luciana, Cali y el Dandee, Sebastian Yatra, Farruko, Sin Bandera, Reik and Regulo Caro. The event will also feature a musical performance by renowned TV personalities Jeimy Osorio, Raul Gonzalez and Laura Flores.
Nominees at "Premios Tu Mundo" include Rafael Amaya, the star of "El Señor de los Cielos," who leads all acting categories with four nominations. Blanca Soto and Rodrigo Guirao, from "Señora Acero," Gabriel Porras, from "Bajo El Mismo Cielo," and Ludwika Paleta, from "La Querida Del Centauro," have three nominations each. Top music nominees, in the categories of regional mexican, pop, tropical and urban genres, include Daddy Yankee with three nominations, followed by two-time nominees Chino y Nacho, Gente de Zona, Nicky Jam and Prince Royce. "Premios Tu Mundo" nominees were selected by a panel of industry professionals, and the diverse list of categories for the popular special includes: The Perfect Couple, Best Villain, I'm Sexy and I Know It, Fan Club of the Year and Favorite Influencer, among others.
