Kenan Thompson to Star in New NBC Comedy Series
Kenan Thompson is set to star in the new NBC comedy series, Saving Larry, according to Variety.
The series, which has received a production commitment at NBC, is a single-camera comedy in which Thomson would star as a dad who has to be both mother and father to his kids after his wife dies. And he has to do it all with his father-in-law hovering over him.
In addition to starring, Thompson would also executive produce the series. Saving Larry will be written by Jackie Clarke, who will also executive produce, with Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer also executive producing. Universal Television will produce along with Broadway Video.
If the comedy goes to series, Thompson would leave Saturday Night Live, a show he has been on since 2003. He recently broke the record as the longest-serving cast member.
