KABCTV to Take Fans Behind-the-Scens of THE OSCARS in Virtual Reality

ABC Owned Television Station abc7 (KABCTV) in Los Angeles is launching a 360 VR experience on Oscar® Sunday that takes viewers behind the scenes of The Oscars the week leading up to the show, including a preview of the Governors Ball with Wolfgang Puck, a walk down the full length of the red carpet, and the rooftop of Jimmy Kimmel's sound stage for an aerial view of the venue, red carpet and the iconic Hollywood sign. The full experience will be available on abc7.com/vr and ABC7's Facebook page and via Littlstar web, mobile, headset and Apple TV platforms beginning Sunday at 2:00 p.m. PST. The 88th Oscars will be held on Sunday, February 28, at the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network at 7:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. PST. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

The Oscars, produced by David Hill and Reginald Hudlin, and hosted by Chris Rock, will also be televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide.

"The Oscars Opening Ceremony: Live From The Red Carpet," hosted by "Good Morning America" Anchor Robin Roberts and "LIVE with Kelly and Michael" Co-Host and "GMA" Co-Host Michael Strahan, begins at 7:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. PST on ABC and is the only official red-carpet event. Additionally, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. EST, ABC is the only telecast broadcasting live and exclusively from the red carpet.

Fans also have several ways to access the show on digital platforms. "The Oscars Backstage" on Oscar.com is the ultimate second-screen experience. Presented by Samsung, "The Oscars® Backstage" enables fans to choose from four channels that will pull from more than 20 live cameras strategically placed on the red carpet and backstage at the Dolby Theatre, providing insider views into the most memorable moments of the night. Pre-show channels include Director's Cut, Arrivals, Fashion and Red Carpet. During the show, the channels are Director's Cut (including the popular Thank You cam), Audience, Backstage and Press Rooms. Hosts include actor/writer/producer Orlando Jones, actress and TV personality Diane Mizota, actor Matt Shively, film critic and entertainment reporter Ben Lyons and entertainment and sports reporter Chris Connelly.

The Oscars will stream live on abc.com and THE WATCH ABC app in ABC's eight owned TV station markets, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Fresno, Raleigh-Durham and Philadelphia. The full show will be available on demand to viewers nationwide the next day.

The annual "Jimmy Kimmel Live: After The Oscars" special will air live on Oscar Sunday, February 28, after the late local news EST/CST and at 10 p.m. PST on the ABC Television Network.

On February 29, 2016, "LIVE with Kelly and Michael" will continue its awards season tradition with the fifth edition of "LIVE's After Oscar® Show," airing live in national Syndication at 9:00 a.m. EST. The top morning talker's annual post-Oscar telecast has become one of its most popular episodes and is broadcast from the magnificent Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. Mere hours after the festivities have wrapped on the same stage, thousands of fans will fill the venue for an action-packed hour celebrating all things Oscar, from the A-list personalities to the incredible fashions, star-studded red carpet and backstage excitement. In the past, Kelly and Michael have welcomed award winners such as Lupita Nyong'o, Octavia Spencer, Christoph Waltz, and the cast of Best Picture winner "The Artist," as well as 2015 Oscar host Neil Patrick Harris.
