Joy Behar is packing up and moving on.

According to Deadline, the long-time talk show co-host is officially exiting ABC's The View come August, when her current contract expires.

"It seemed like the right time," she told the site today in an interview. "You reach a point when you say to yourself, 'Do I want to keep doing this?' There are other things on my plate I want to do - I've been writing a play, I've been neglecting my standup."

Behar and Walters are the final two original VIEW members remaining on the show since its inception over 16 years ago.

"I have a lot of friends there, and I will miss everyone I've worked with because we have a family there," the Emmy Award winner said. "It is a smart talk show because somebody of her stature is leading the conversation; Barbara was one of the main reasons I took that job."

As of now, no replacement for Behar has been announced or discussed, but as Deadline points out, Walters and other host Elisabeth Hasselbeck may end up leaving in the near-future, as well.

Behar has also hosted shows on HLN and presently Joy Behar: SAY ANYTHIGN! on Current TV at 6:00PM (EST) and repeats at 9:00PM (EST). However, as the network has been bought out by Al Jazeera, her show is set to come to an end this year. The end of SAY ANYTHING! on Current doesn't necessarily mean an end to Behar, though. According to multiple reports, including The Huffington Post, Behar has attended multiple meetings with CNN's Jeff Zucker, adding fuel to the fire that she make a move, enlisting with other journalists such as Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer on the acclaimed news network.
