Telemundo Communications Group, a leading producer of high-quality content for Hispanics in the U.S. and audiences around the world, today announced that Joshua Mintz has been named Senior Executive Vice President, Telemundo Entertainment, effective immediately.  The announcement was made by Telemundo President Don Browne, to whom Mintz will report.

In this new position, Mintz will be responsible for the overall entertainment development and programming strategy of the Telemundo Network.  Mintz will work to streamline Telemundo's development-to-air process and design and execute long-term strategic plans for the network's entertainment grid, including original content and program acquisitions strategy.  Adriana Ibanez, Executive Vice President of Programming, will continue in her role overseeing programming and scheduling strategy for Telemundo's network and international cable channel, and will report to Mintz.

"Joshua is an extraordinarily talented producer, programmer and television executive. He has extensive experience in Mexico as a producer and media executive.  He has also had experience as a programmer for US Hispanic audiences and has been an important part of the success of Telemundo studios," said Browne.  "He knows and understands the competitive landscape and will bring diversity, experience and global leadership to all areas of content and programming. In a period of great change and increasing competition, having Joshua join forces with Adriana puts us in a strong position to compete and grow.  They are truly a dream team."

Prior to this role, Mintz was Vice President Strategic Development at Telemundo Studios.  He joined Telemundo Studios in 2007 as Vice President Talent Strategy where he was instrumental in attracting impressive talent including top international stars such as Victoria Ruffo, Edith Gonzalez, Eugenio Siller, Sara Maldonado, Rafael Amaya and Kate del Castillo, among many others.

"I look forward to working with the Telemundo team to enhance our long-term programming strategy and expand our development process," said Mintz. "Telemundo is extremely well positioned for growth and I am excited to have the opportunity to help strengthen our competitive position in the fast-growing Hispanic market."

With over 25 years of experience in the television industry in Mexico and the U.S., Mintz started his career at Televisa in various technical and production positions. In 1990 he was appointed General Director of Broadcasting Stations where he was responsible for operating four national networks, two international networks and Televisa's cable system in Mexico City. He was later appointed General Director of Logistics of Televisa San Angel. During his tenure with Televisa he was also a member of the Executive Programming and Production Committees. Mintz oversaw the development of hits such as "Diseñado Ambos Sexos," the highest rated sitcom at that time, and was Executive Producer of more than 20 entertainment/musical productions. Mintz was also Executive Producer for the first three Mexican  "Telethons," as well as other highly acclaimed shows such as "Televisa, La Fabrica de Sueños," "Premios TV y Novelas," "Juan Gabriel at the Azteca," and "Fantastico Amor."

In 2000, Mintz joined Univision as Dramatic Production Director where he led the design of their first novela studio in Miami.  While at Univision he worked directly with Univision's former Chairman and CEO Jerrold Perenchio and was executive producer of the "Selena Vive!" live special from Houston, TX, which became the highest-rated show in US Hispanic television history at that point.

In 2006, Mintz joined Azteca America as Director of Programming and shortly thereafter was promoted to Director of Programming, Production and Operations.   He received his Bachelor of Arts from the Universidad Anahuac in Mexico City in Social Communication Sciences with a specialization in Television and Radio.
