The Wrap reports that a slew of comedy stars are now in talks for Richard Linklater's THE INCREDIBLE MR. LIMPET remake.

Jon Hamm vying for a leading role opposite Zach Galifianakis, with Danny McBride, Sarah Silverman, Kevin Hart, Josh Gad and Keegan Michael Key & Jordan Peele (Key & Peele) in the wings for supporting roles.

'MR. LIMPET' has a script based on the novel by Theodore Pratt. It centers on a man named Henry Limpet, who turns into a talking fish and helps the U.S. Navy locate and destroy Nazi submarines.

The original 1964 film adaptation was directed by Arthur Lubin and starred Don Knotts as Limpet.

Galifianakis will likely star as the reboot's leading man, with Hamm as the villain.

Filming is aiming to begin by early 2015.
