John Leguizamo, Nick Sandow and Merritt Wever Board MEADOWLAND
John Leguizamo, Nick Sandow and Merritt Wever have joined the cast of the Bron Studios drama MEADOWLAND. The film also stars Olivia Wilde, Luke Wilson, Elisabeth Moss, Giovanni Ribisi, Ty Simpkins, Scott Mescudi (aka Kid Cudi), Mark Feuerstein, Kevin Corrigan and Juno Temple.
MEADOWLAND will be the directorial debut of award-winning cinematographer Reed Morano from a screenplay by Chris Rossi. Morano, a member of the A.S.C. is previously known for her work on The Skeleton Twins, Kill Your Darlings, HBO's Looking and Frozen River.
MEADOWLAND is a Bron Studios production in association with Creative Wealth Media Finance. Matt Tauber and Olivia Wilde serve as producers with Bron's Aaron L. Gilbert and Margot Hand. Executive producers on the project are Jennifer Levine and Jason Cloth. Richard Hicks C.S.A. is the casting director.
In MEADOWLAND a couple, Sarah and David, deal with the UNTHINKABLE in the wake of their son's disappearance. David, a New York City policeman, attempts a more traditional form of healing, only to lose his moral compass. Sarah goes down an unexpected path towards acceptance as she places herself in increasingly dangerous situations.
John Leguizamo has voiced the iconic role of Sid in the Ice Age franchise. His one man show Ghetto Klown, was seen on HBO this spring and recent films include RIDE ALONG and Jon Favreau's Chef. He will be featured in THE COMEDY The Nest alongside Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Nick Sandow's television credits include the hit Netflix original series Orange is the New Black, HBO's series Boardwalk Empire and the CBS series Blue Bloods. Merritt Wever is best known for her Emmy-award winning role in the Showtime series Nurse Jackie. She has appeared in the FOX series New Girl and in such feature films as Tiny Furniture and the upcoming Birdman. She recently completed The Last Face for director Sean Penn. The previously announced Natasha Lyonne has withdrawn due to a schedule conflict.
WME and Gersh are representing domestic rights on MEADOWLAND.
Bron is currently in production on the feature film I SAW THE LIGHT, starring Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen, written and directed by Marc Abraham; and on the animated feature film HENCHMEN, in partnership with Gary Sanchez Productions. The Bron Studios/Gary Sanchez production WELCOME TO ME, starring Kristen Wiig, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.
