John Gallagher, Jr. and Kate Lyn Sheil to Star in Indie Film THE HEART MACHINE

Deadline reports that John Gallagher, Jr. (The Newsroom) and Kate Lyn Sheil will star in THE HEART MACHINE, written and directed by Zachary Wigon for Parts & Labor. Filming began today in New York.

The indie mystery follows long-distance couple Cody (Gallagher Jr.) and Virginia (Sheil). The two have never met in person, but when Cody senses that Virginia is actually in NYC where he lives, he attempts to find her.

Aside from TV's The Newsroom and HBO's Olive Kitteridge miniseries, which he just joined, Gallagher, Jr.'s film credits include Short Term 12, Margaret, Jonah Hex, Whatever Works, Mr. Gibb, Pieces of April and more. The actor has appeared on Broadway in Jerusalem, American Idiot, Spring Awakening and Rabbit Hole, as well as off-Broadway's Farragut North, Port Authority and Kimberly Akimbo.
