Jewtopia, a comedy by Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson, is the longest running comedy in Off-Broadway history. Now, according to Shalom Life, the show will be made into a big screen picture starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Hewitt rose to fame on Fox series Party of Five, and through the films I Know What You Did Last Summer, its sequel and the film Can't Hardly Wait.

She has been signed by Atlantic Records and Jive Records. To date, her most successful single on the Billboard Hot 100 is the 1999 release "How Do I Deal", which peaked at #59. Hewitt has also served as a producer on some of her film and television projects. She most recently portrayed Melinda Gordon on CBS' Ghost Whisperer. For her role she won a Saturn Award in 2007 and 2008 for Best Actress on Television.

Jewtopia focuses on two friends, Chris O'Connell and Adam Lipschitz, both approaching their 30th birthdays. Gentile Chris is interested in dating Jewish women because he feels that they will make his life easier by making all of life's decisions for him. Jewish Adam wants to date Gentile women because he does not wish to be reminded of his roots. The two team up and teach each other how to woo the women of their choice.

Bryan Fogel will both produce and direct the movie, which as of yet has no release set.
