Netflix announced that principal photography begins September 12 on the original feature film OUR SOULS AT NIGHT from director Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox). Our Souls at Night will shoot in Colorado -- where its namesake novel was set. Jane Fonda will star as Addie Moore, Robert Redford as Louis Waters, Bruce Dern (Nebraska) as Dorlan, Judy Greer as Holly, Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl) as Gene, and Iain Armitage (Big Little Lies) will play Jamie, Addie's grandson. The film will be produced by Finola Dwyer (Brooklyn). Ben Ormand (Mascots) serves as Executive Producer.

Based on the novel written by Kent Haruf and adapted for the screen by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Fault in Our Stars), Our Souls at Night is set in Colorado and begins when Addie Moore (Jane Fonda) pays an unexpected visit to a neighbor, Louis Waters (Robert Redford). Her husband died years ago, as did his wife, and in such a small town they'd been neighbors for decades, but had little contact. Their children live far away and they are all alone in their big houses. She seeks to establish a connection, and make the most of the rest of the time they have.

"I'm looking forward to teaming up with Jane and working with the talented Ritesh Batra. Our Souls at Night is an endearing story and I'm happy we get to share it with a broader audience," said Robert Redford.

The film reunites Fonda and Redford as an onscreen couple, famously captured in films like The Chase and Barefoot in the Park. The pair last worked together in 1979 on The Electric Horseman.

Our Souls at Night will premiere globally on Netflix in 2017.
