INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2 is working its subtle horror magic at the box office this weekend with a $20.1 million opening yesterday, Friday the 13th. Jason Blum and Oren Peli's Blumhouse horror sequel is now creeping toward $43 million by Sunday.

The famed horror team of director James Wan and writer Leigh Whannell reunite with the original cast of Broadway vet Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, Barbara Hershey and Ty Simpkins in INSIDIOUS: CHAPTER 2, a terrifying sequel to the acclaimed horror film, which follows the haunted Lambert family as they seek to uncover the mysterious childhood secret that has left them dangerously connected to the spirit world.

Also debuting this weekend is THE FAMILY, starring Robert de Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Tommy Lee Jones. Directed and written by Luc Besson and produced by Martin Scorsese, THE FAMILY drew $5.3 million on Friday and looks to a $15.5 million weekend for Relativity and Europacorp.
