AMERICAN IDOL's newest breakout star, Jessica Sanchez, discusses her recent duet with original Tony Award-winning DREAMGIRLS star Jennifer Holliday in a new chat.

Sanchez previously performed "Love You I Do" from the feature film adaptation of DREAMGIRLS prior to performing the Unforgettable Act One closer, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going" live on the final results show with the Broadway star.

Remarking upon the Epic duet, Sanchez says that that performance was the highlight of her American Idol experience. She says, "It really was, just being with her and seeing her energy got me pumped up, too. So, I hope that translated well over the television."

As for life since IDOL, which includes a guest starring gig on FOX's hit musical dramedy series GLEE? Sanchez comments, "Just recently - not even just recently, everything that's happened in my life has been so amazing and memorable - but, I think going back to IDOL was one of the biggest things for me. You know, not singing for votes, and it was my new single and it just meant a lot. It's where I started, and now here I am."

Sanchez placed second in last year's competition, ultimately losing out to Philip Phillips, but events similar to that certainly did not stand in the way of Jennifer Hudson's career - after all, she won an Oscar for her work in the film version of DREAMGIRLS and a Grammy Award for her first solo album effort.

Could Sanchez be the next IDOL Oscar winner? Or, maybe, Grammy winner? Only time will tell.
