'IDOL' Finalist Lambert Hopes For No 'Broadway Week' This Season

Adam Lambert powerful voiced and dramatically emotional, continues to stand out on American Idol this season, the young Los Angeles based singer advanced and will now be a member of the top 12 finalists.

Lambert gave the Rolling Stones classic 'Satisfaction' a soaring spin on the February 25th of Idol and was voted through to become one of the top 12 finalists in the results show that aired February 26th on Fox. Lambert has a thrilling theatrical energy that so far is connecting with the audience and most of the judging panel, but the sassy singer would rather keep his musical theatre past at a slight distance according to an interview he gave with MTV.com.

The former Los Angeles WICKED ensemble member made no secret of his wish that there will be no "Broadway Week" this season on American Idol, explaining to MTV that , "I hope they don't. Not because I have anything against it, I just don't see myself doing that as a recording artist in that way". In addition to performing in WICKED, Adam Lambert also had a role in The Ten Commandments and appeared in The Zodiac Show.

On Thursday, March 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT), AMERICAN IDOL presents a special "Wild Card" episode featuring the judges favorite remaining contestants. After each of the contestants perform, the judges will select the three final contestants who will round out the Top 12.

The competition then heats up as those Top 12 finalists take the stage for the first time together Tuesday, March 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Immediately following, America has another chance to share its voice and vote for their favorite finalists.
