Hal Holbrook to Appear in 'Sons of Anarchy' this Fall

Actor of stage and screen HAl Holbrook has signed on to appear in the upcoming third season of FX's Sons of Anarchy.  He will star in a four episode arc as Nate Madock, the father of Gemma Morrow Teller, played by Katey Segal. The season premiere is to take place in September.

85 year old Holbrook has appeared on TV as Abraham Lincoln in the 1976 TV series Lincoln, Hays Stowe on The Bold Ones: The Senator and Capt. Lloyd Bucher on Pueblo. He is also known for his role in the 2007 film Into the Wild, for which he was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award.

Holbrook's stage career has been very extensive, including appearences in the original Broadway productions of Man of la Mancha and The Apple Tree.  Other stage credits include: Tartuffe, Mark Twain Tonight!, I Never Sang for My Father, the Glass Menagerie and Marco Millions.

Sons of Anarchy is an American television drama series created by Kurt Sutter about the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club operating in Charming, a fictional town in Northern California. The show centers on protagonist Jackson, the Vice President of the club who begins questioning the club and himself. Sons of Anarchy premiered on September 3, 2008 on cable network FX. Its second season debuted on September 8, 2009, and it was renewed for a third season on December 3, 2009
