According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Hunger Games franchise has been so successful that Lionsgate is moving forward with their plan to create a theme park. The studio has recruited Thinkwell Group, theme park creator, to begin working on The Hunger Games: The Exhibition. The exhibition is set to debut in the US starting in 2015.

Lionsgate CEO, Jon Feltheimer, stated, "As a first step, we've already designed a state-of-the-art traveling museum involving costumes, props and other elements of theHunger Games world that will begin touring the U.S. next summer."

The blockbuster The Hunger Games franchise, starring Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, is a global phenomenon whose first two installments have grossed more than $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office, and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is the 10th highest-grossing domestic release of all time. The next two installments of the series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, will be released on November 21, 2014, and November 20, 2015, respectively.

Lionsgate is also scouting out other theme park ideas based on their other franchises, which Thinkwell will also work on. As Feltheimer hinted during a teleconference, "Thinkwell ... is spearheading an initiative for line extensions ofThe Hunger Games and all of our other brands."
