'HOUSEWIVES' Creator Cherry Loves Those 'Grand Ol' Dames', Wants Stritch

Desperate Housewives, series creator Marc Cherry spoke to E!Online's Marc Malkin and announced his desire to bring some of the great ladies of the stage and screen to Wisteria Lane in the future.

Cherry stated that, "I would love to work with Mary Tyler Moore, Vanessa Redgrave and folks like Elaine Stritch, who I'm going to try to get to Wisteria Lane at some point," Cherry said. "I'm always attracted to those grand ol' dames."

The creator of the hit ABC show has always brought his love of musicals and theatre to the project, he even names each episode after a Sondheim song.

Stage legend Elaine Stritch won an Emmy Award for her continuing role as Alec Baldwin's character Jack Donaghy's mother, Colleen Donaghy on NBC's "30 Rock."
