HGTV to Premiere WHITE HOUSE CHRISTMAS 2018

Thousands of dazzling lights, festive cranberry topiaries and the magnificent 18-foot-tall official Fraser Fir Christmas tree take center stage in White House Christmas 2018. During the HGTV special, premiering on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. ET/PT, cameras follow designer and home renovation star Alison Victoria, White House staff and volunteers on an exclusive room-by-room tour of the iconic home's holiday transformation.

This year's décor theme, American Treasures, honors the unique heritage of the United States and is reflected in the holiday décor throughout the Executive Residence. For example, the Blue Room tree is dressed in more than 500 feet of blue velvet ribbon with each state and territory name embroidered in gold. As part of the special, Alison chats with volunteers and helps hang ornaments, arrange garlands and spray edible snow on the famed gingerbread replica of the White House.

Fans can visit HGTV.com/WhiteHouseChristmas for photo galleries of the holiday festivities and can interact via social media using#WhiteHouseChristmas. Beginning Dec. 9, at 6 p.m. ET/PT, viewers also can watch this year's special-as well as past years of HGTV's White House Christmas-on demand across all platforms and on the HGTV app.
