A beautiful, custom-built "green" home located just outside Atlanta in Serenbe, a community in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, is the cornerstone of the fifth annual HGTV Green Home Giveaway® that opens for entries beginning Thursday, April 12, at 9 a.m. ET. The giveaway, which runs through Friday, June 1, at 5 p.m. ET, will award one lucky, randomly-selected winner with the fully furnished 2,300-square-foot home plus $100,000 and a 2012 GMC® Terrain®.

Fans may enter the giveaway once per day on HGTV.com as well as once per day on HYPERLINK "http://www.hgtvremodels.com/greenhome"HGTVRemodels.com. They also may enter as often as they wish by regular mail during the giveaway entry period. Online users can click through photo galleries, watch exclusive videos and take a 360-degree tour of the home.

HGTV will offer viewers an insider's peek at the remarkable residence in the HGTV Green Home 2012 special on Friday, April 13, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. During the television special, HGTV co-hosts Monica Pedersen and Jamie Durie, host of The Outdoor Room and a featured judge in the network's upcoming new series, http://www.hgtv.com/white-room-challenge/show/index.html The White Room Challenge, will take viewers on a visual tour of the home that includes a unique four-season Georgia room. Pedersen and Durie will be joined by House Planner Jack Thomasson and HGTV Green Home designer Linda Woodrum who will share tips about the home's green construction and design.

Designed by Kemp Hall Studio, the 2012 HGTV Green Home is a modern family farmhouse with a design inspired by Southeastern culture and regional architecture. Located in an idyllic, eco-progressive community 25 minutes south of Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International airport, the home features an open floor plan with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Constructed by FrontPorch Builders, the HGTV Green Home combines traditional beauty with 21st-century responsible living, showcasing construction and design elements such as solar panels and concrete countertops as well as recycled and recyclable rugs that are known to contribute to an energy efficient, cleaner and healthier living environment.
