Grant Bowler Cast as Richard Burton in Lifetime Biopic

As first reported on Deadline.com, Grant Bowler has been cast in the role of Richard Burton opposite Lindsay Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime biopic LIZ AND DICK.

The film will center on the turbulant relationship between legendary actors Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, who were married and divorced two times. The couple was constantly surrounded by the media throughout their roller coaster relationship. 

Production on the film is set to begin On June 4th. Larry A. Thompson, the film's executive producer, told Deadline, "Grant will add gravitas to our couple and bring to life one of the greatest actors who has ever lived. Burton was a Welsh poet, a rascal, and a man's man, who swept Elizabeth Taylor off her feet and flew her so close to the sun that they both exploded into stardust that still lights up Hollywood." The EP went on to comment that the chemistry between the two actors during the reading, "erupted in the room."

Grant Bowler has appeared on TV in Ugly Betty and True Blood. He will soon be seen in the Syfy series, Defiance.
