Golden Age of Spanish Horror Cinema Series Runs 10/30-11/10 at Anthology Film Archives

Halloween is all about screams and screens this fall as the scariest time of the year celebrates The Golden Age of Spanish Horror Cinema at Anthology Film Archives. The series is presented by the legendary film center and Spain Culture New York-Consulate General of Spain and co-presented by The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival. Spanish film critic Francisco Javier Pulido Samper curated the highly anticipated event to be held from October 30 through November 10, 2013. The astounding two-week series features a special Halloween Night program on October 31 and will screen a total of eleven classics from filmmakers whose legendary approaches to the industry have captivated generations of audiences and unleashed some of the most riveting moments in Spanish horror film history.

The Halloween Night program will scare up Jorge Grau's zombie killer Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) at 7:15pm and Javier Aguirre's blood-sucking Count Dracula's Great Love (1973) at 9:15pm. Other chilling films confirmed for the groundbreaking series are Leo?n Klimovsky's The Werewolf Versus The Vampire Woman (1971), Narciso Iba?n?ez Serrador's The House That Screamed (1969), Jess Franco's Venus In Furs (1969) and The Demons (1973), Amando de Ossorio's Loreley's Grasp (1974) and Night of the Seagulls (1975), Jose? Ramo?n Larraz's Vampyres (1974), Paul Naschy's The Craving (1980) and Eugenio Marti?n's Horror Express (1972).
