Game Show Network's Lottery SCANDAL Documentary, "COVER STORY: The Notorious Lottery Heist" To Air ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 28 at 7 PM ET Game Show Network's one-hour documentary special COVER STORY: The Notorious Lottery Heist, premiering tonight at at 7 pm ET, will explore THE STORY BEHIND the biggest criminal conspiracy in lottery history.

Imagine spending $5 and winning a $16.5 million lottery jackpot. You'd claim the prize immediately. But in December of 2011, this Iowa Lottery winner waited until the deadline was almost up before trying to make an anonymous claim, only to eventually walk away from their life changing prize when told they had to reveal their identity. THE LOTTERY commission thought this was highly suspicious and initiated an investigation. It took nearly two years before a crime was UNCOVERED in their own backyard - a conspiracy emanating from inside THE LOTTERY itself.

The buyer of the winning ticket, Eddie Tipton, was the multi-state lottery's head of IT security. In order to make his plot work, he had to sneak self-destructing computer code onto a computer that wasn't connected to the company network and under 24-hour video surveillance. In other words, he pulled off a seemingly impossible mission. And he did while everyone was watching.
