Screendaily.com reports that GLEE's Chris Colfer is set to star as British playwright, composer and director Noel Coward in an upcoming biopic to be titled NOEL. The project was written by Martin Sherman. Others in talks for the project are Sir Ian McKellen, Vanessa Redgrave and Jonathan Pryce.

The project will follow "the early life and influences of the famously flamboyant British playwright, producer and wit who penned classics including Private Lives and Blithe Spirit and who worked on films including Brief Encounter and In Which We Serve, for which he was Oscar-nominated."

Filming on the project is expected bo get underway in the UK in late summer.

Colfer is best known for his role as Kurt on the long running FOX dramedy series GLEE. He recently wrote and starred in the film Struck by Lightning. He will soon release the third installment of his children's book series The Land of Stories.
