FX Networks Acquires Hit Comedy TRAINWRECK, PIXELS & More Hit Movies

FX Networks, the leading destination for blockbuster features, has secured the exclusive U.S. commercial television premiere rights to Mission: Impossible - ROGUE Nation, which topped the weekend's domestic box office with a $56 million debut. Mission: Impossible - ROGUE Nation is the latest box office leader to be acquired for television by FX Networks and its suite of networks - FX, FXX, FXM and the video-on-demand platform FXNOW. In addition, FX Networks has acquired the hit comedy Trainwreck, which has grossed nearly $80 million domestically, Spy, Pixels and Paper Towns.

So far this year, FX Networks has secured the exclusive U.S. commercial television premiere rights to several blockbusters, including Minions, which has grossed $855 million worldwide, Jurassic World, the third-highest grossing domestic feature of all time, and Furious 7, which has grossed over $1.5 billion in worldwide box office revenue. FX Networks has also licensed Terminator: Genisys, Ted 2, Pitch Perfect 2, Taken 3, Kingsman: The Secret Service and Home.

As an aggressive buyer of major box office hits, FX Networks has established itself as the leading destination for blockbuster features and movies with wide audience appeal. In 2014, FX Networks licensed 67% of all of the year's features that grossed more than $100 million at the box office.


FX Networks, a business unit of 21st Century Fox, is comprised of the networks FX, FXX and FXM and the video on-demand app FXNOW. FX, the flagship general entertainment basic cable channel, launched in June of 1994 and is carried in 94 million homes. The diverse schedule features a growing roster of critically-acclaimed and award-winning hit dramas series, including The Americans, The Strain, Tyrant, and the upcoming The Bastard Executioner and Taboo; the critically-acclaimed limited series American Horror Story, FARGO and the upcoming AMERICAN CRIME Story; acclaimed hit comedy series including the award-winning Louie, Archer, Married, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and the upcoming Baskets. FX's roster of acquired hit series includes Two and a Half Men, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and Mike & Molly. FXX, the newest network, launched in September 2013 and is carried in more than 78 million homes. Geared towards a young adult audience, the schedule features original series, movies, and acquired series. The channel is anchored by the acclaimed hit comedies It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, You're the Worst, MAN SEEKING WOMAN and the upcoming The Untitled Tracy Morgan Project (TBD). FXX is also the exclusive cable home to The Simpsons, the longest-running comedy in TV history, the late night animated block Animation Domination, and acquired hit series such as In Living Color, Mad About You and Parks and Recreation. FXM (formerly FOX Movie Channel) was launched in October of 1994 and is now carried in more than 52 million homes. Its schedule features classic films during the day (FXM Retro), and contemporary box office hits and acclaimed, award-winning films in the evening, as well as short-form award-winning original programming.
