Elaine Stritch, Anna Kendrick Lend Voices to ParaNorman Film

According to EW.com, stage and screen stars Elaine Stritch and Anna Kendrick will lend their voices to 'ParaNorman,' a film from the makers of 'Coroline.' The movie will hit theatres on August 17 2012, and will also feature: Kodi Smit-McPhee, Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Bernard Hill.

As described by EW, the movie is about 'a young boy named Norman (Smit-McPhee) who can converse with the dead and must help his small town ward off a horde of, what else, zombies.'

Stritch is best known for her performance of "The Ladies Who Lunch" in Stephen Sondheim's 1970 musical Company, her 2001 one-woman show Elaine Stritch at Liberty, and recently for her role as Jack Donaghy's mother Colleen on NBC's 30 Rock. She has been nominated for the Tony Award four times in various categories, and won for Elaine Stritch at Liberty. She most recently appeared on Broadway in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC opposite Bernadette Peters.

Kendrick's first acting role was as Dinah in the Broadway musical High Society in August 1998 when she was twelve years old, a performance for which she earned Theatre World Award, Drama Desk Award, and Tony Award nominations, making her the third-youngest Tony Award nominee. She was recently nominated for an Academy Award for 'Up in the Air.'
