The Hollywood Reporter recently reported that former ANT-MAN director Edgar Wright, who departed the Marvel film due to "creative differences," is set to direct the latest insect movie, GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE.

Based on Andrew Smith's young adult novel of the same name, GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE features a script by BEAUTIFUL GIRLS writer Scott Rosenberg, who is producing alongside Matt Tolmach and Nira Park.

Casting for GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE has yet to be announced.

GRASSHOPPER JUNGLE is a coming of age story about a young Iowan boy who experiences the usual teen struggles involving sexuality. On top of that, however, he inadvertantly releases a fleet of extraordinarily unusual genetically enhanced six-foot preying mantises, whose most normal feature is their height.
