According to The Hollywood Reporter, ESPN has cancelled Will Ferrell's appearance as ANCHORMAN 2's 'Ron Burgundy' which was scheduled for tonight's 'SportsCenter' broadcast. The decision by the sports network was made in light of a news conference regarding sexual assault allegations against quarterback Jameis Winston scheduled for today.

David Scott, ESPN's director of communications said in a statement on Twitter, "Ron Burgundy's scheduled Thurs. appearance on @SportsCenter has been cancelled in light of the potential implications of any news from the State Attorney's press conference in Fla. As of this time, there is no reschedule date for Ron Burgundy."

Ferrell was set to appear at 6 p.m. ET along with his co-star David Koechner, who was to appear as his character Champ Kind from Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues in a segment presented by Dodge Durango.

The sequel to the 2004 smash hit comedy will center on how round the clock news has impacted the San Diego-based broadcasting team. The film will hit theaters nationwide on December 18th.
