In this all-new edition of "E! Investigates," series host and investigative journalist Laura Ling sits down with six women who have faced unspeakable tragedies and seemingly insurmountable odds, yet lived to tell their stories. Kidnapping; a horrifying fall; sexual abuse by a teacher; attempted murder and a cancer death sentence. These stories are featured, along with an exclusive interview with Sarah Shourd, one of three young American hikers falsely accused of espionage and imprisoned in Iran, when the all-new one-hour special "E! Investigates: Stories of Survival" premieres Tuesday, December 18th at 10:00pm ET/PT only on E!

Midsi Sanchez was a mischievous, spirited eight-year-old who was abducted by a serial child rapist/killer and kept for nearly three days -- much of the time bound in chains -- before managing to escape. Now grown, with a child of her own, Midsi tells the horrifying story of her abduction and what happened before she made her way to freedom: "I remember thinking, 'I'm never gonna get out of here.'"

Former Mrs. Idaho pageant winner, Jamie Hilton, nearly lost her entire world when a fishing trip led to tragedy. Jamie fell 10-12 feet off a cliff, and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Hours from the nearest hospital, Jamie and her family tell the miraculous story of how she survived.

U.C. Berkeley Assistant Swim Coach, Kristen Cunnane, was a shy 8thgrader who found a friend and mentor in her P.E. teacher back in 1993. But when the trusted educator's friendship strayed into sexual territory, Kristen was ensnared in a nightmare of abuse that took her years to end. Kristen tells us how she finally found the courage to end the abuse and confront her attacker.

Molli Serrano is more than a cancer survivor, she is a miracle. The triathlete and mother of twins was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given only a 20% chance of living past the first year. Molli survived invasive surgery and months of chemotherapy to realize her dream of competing in the most grueling of all triathlons - Iron Man Hawaii - just 16 months after her diagnosis.

Sarah Shourd made international headlines when she, her fiancé Shane Bauer, and their friend Josh Fattal were taken into Iranian custody after inadvertently straying across the border. The world held its breath for more than a year as Sarah's fate was determined by her captors. Now, Sarah shares the story of her captivity, and how she kept her sanity throughout her ordeal: "I meditated, prayed, and I would wake up in the morning and I had an almost three-and-a-half-hour exercise routine that I would do inside my cell."

Johanna Orozco was a popular teen who dreamed of spending her life with handsome boyfriend Juan Ruiz. However, five months into the relationship, Juan became possessive, then obsessive. Ultimately, Juan's obsession led to attempted murder when he shot Johanna in the face. After a dozen reconstructive procedures, Johanna recounts the terrifying moments of her relationship with Juan as a cautionary tale to other young women.

These incredible stories of survival and the women who lived them are terrifying, inspirational and uplifting. Don't miss this powerful hour of television as Laura Ling sits with six amazing women in "E! Investigates: Stories of Survival," premiering Tuesday, December 18 at 10:00pm ET/PT only on E!
