ESPN today announced that highly-respected basketball commentator Doris Burke will start a new role as a full-time ESPN NBA game analyst. The versatile veteran will serve as an analyst for ESPN NBA telecasts throughout the regular season and during the NBA Playoffs. She has served as an ESPN NBA game analyst for select games in recent seasons. She will begin the full-time role during ESPN's NBA preseason coverage on October 8.

Burke will also continue her role as lead ESPN NBA sideline reporter for the company's coverage of the most significant NBA games of the year, including the NBA FINALS on ABC and the NBA Conference Finals.

Tim Corrigan, ESPN NBA senior coordinating producer: "Simply put, Doris Burke is one of the best commentators in sports. She's incredibly accomplished, respected and admired, and for good reason. Her work-ethic and her passion for the NBA are second-to-none, she's a great colleague and she makes our coverage better. Doris has spent a lifetime in basketball, and now, she'll be able to share all of her knowledge, from the booth, with NBA fans on a regular basis."

Burke has covered basketball for ESPN since 1991. Across nearly three decades, she has been a top commentator on several significant ESPN properties, including the NBA, women's and men's college basketball and the WNBA. Burke has been the recipient of several awards and honors, including most recently when she was one of the recipients of the 2017 WISE Women of the Year award.

As a star basketball player at Providence College, Burke graduated as a multi-category record-holder and in 2005 she was inducted into the Providence College Hall of Fame. For more on Doris Burke, her bio is available at ESPN Media Zone.
