Disney's Mysterious 1952 Officially Titled TOMORROWLAND

The Walt Disney Studios has announced that its hush-hush Brad Bird project, previously known as 1952, will be titled TOMORROLAND. The studio has also announced that film is set for a domestic release on December 19, 2014.

George Clooney is also set to star in the film, written by Damon Lindelof and Bird. Lindelof (STAR TREK, LOST, PROMETHEUS) will produce. Bird (THE INCREDIBLES, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL) will serve as producer and director on the mysterious project.

Plot details are still largely being kept under wraps - though some had originally speculated the title was a coverup for the upcoming STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. This now appears to definitely not be the case with J.J. Abrams set to direct the next installment. Rather, it appears as if TOMORROWLAND may be based upon the formation of Disneyland in 1955 and the Imagineering division, which was founded in 1952, as Entertainment Weekly reported.

Just last week, Lindeloff and Bird uploaded a photo entitled "1952" to Twitter, which showed various photographs of Walt Disney, the book MODEL RESEARCH: THE NATIONAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR AERONAUTICS 1918-1958, and more.
