Details have emerged surrounding the brand new Disney streaming service's most anticipated new series, says The Hollywood Reporter.
Jon Favreau, who will write and executive produce a live-action scripted Star Wars TV series, revealed that the show will be called "The Mandalorian."
"After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic," Favreau said on Instagram.
Multiple Star Wars TV series are in development at the new Disney streaming service, which is expected to rival Netflix. The platform be the exclusive home of Marvel films and original series, Pixar, and other Lucasfilm products.
Favreau is no stranger to the Star Wars universe, appearing in the animated series "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and in "Solo: A Star Wars Story."
