On last night's episode of the ABC reality dating show THE BACHELORETTE, Desiree Heartsock was devastated when Brooks Forester, a marketing consultant from Salt Lake City, UT, made the surprising decision to leave the show because he was not feeling a connection with his potential mate.

"We've really never had that situation at the end of the show," said Bachelorette host Chris Harrison, appearing on this morning's Good Morning America.

Harrison believes Forester was the clear frontrunner to be the Last Man Standing on this season's show. "Obviously she would have [chosen him]," he shared. "We pick up next week with, what's she going to do?"

Part 2 of the Season Finale airs next week, Monday, August 5 AT 8:00-10:01p.m., ET, followed by a live edition of After the Final Rose where all three of the final men will be there to chat along with Desiree. Click here for details on the episode!
