Christina Ricci to Star in NBC's GIRLFRIEND IN A COMA Pilot

According to Deadline, Christina Ricci has officially landed the lead role in NBC's upcoming pilot GIRLFRIEND IN A COMA from Universal TV.

The series comes from NURSE JACKIE's co-creator Liz Brixius and follows "a woman (Ricci) who was in a coma for many years and unexpectedly comes out of the coma to find she has a 17-year-old daughter," the site confirms.

Ricci last appeared on television as a guest star on THE GOOD WIFE, and in ABC's Pan Am as Maggie Ryan. As a young screen actress, Ricci played Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family films, as well as Kat Harvey in Casper. In her later career, she appeared in The Ice Storm, Buffalo '66, The Opposite of Sex, Sleepy Hollow, Monster, Penelope, Black Snake Moan and more.

Ricci has appeared on Broadway in The 24 Hour Plays 2003 and 2004, as well as Mandy Bloom in Time Stands Still in 2010. Her Off-Broadway credits include Classic Stage Company's A Midsummer Night's Dream this year.
