CBS brings you NEWS, NOTES AND QUOTES FROM CBS SPORTS AND CBS SPORTS NETWORK IN NEW ORLEANS:

Super Bowl LIVE:

(SHANNON SHARPE ON THE SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS):

That is the best-looking team physically that I've ever seen.

ROME

(JIM ROME ON Chris Culliver's comments about having a gay teammate):

That sort of ignorance is not going to fly. Especially at a franchise that is as active in the gay Community as the Niners are. Culliver quickly went into damage-control mode, apologizing and saying that his statements were "a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel." Of course it's how you feel. You are not sorry you said it. You're sorry you're getting lit-up for saying it. Gays shouldn't be allowed in the locker room? No, bigots should not be allowed in the locker room, and now we know the Niners have one of those as well.

INSIDE THE SUPER BOWL:

(CBS CORPORATION PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE Leslie Moonves ON THE Super Bowl IN NEW ORLEANS) :

It's an entire week. We've invaded the place and I couldn't be prouder... You look for a town that, number one, will come alive. A town that really appreciates a celebration and knows how to celebrate. I think especially now, since Katrina. This is really the true comeback of New Orleans. You can see it. We're showing it day-by-day. The people are spectacular. It just feels like the greatest party on earth.

(MATT FORTE ON NEW CHICAGO BEARS HEAD COACH MARC TRESTMAN):

I'm looking forward to it. Everyone is kind of stand-offish to change, but sometimes change can be good. On the offensive side of the ball we needed a new look. We've always had a defensive head coach. It's going to be different now, because the head coach is an offensive guy. I'm just looking forward to getting in there with Coach (Marc) Trestman. He's a great guy. I've heard that from a lot of people... As soon as he got hired, he called me. He didn't even want to talk football, just asked me personal things.

(Jonathan Ogden ON BEING A FINALIST FOR THE PRO FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME):

I'm getting a little nervous, but it's more, I just want it to be over... Nothing has happened yet. You can't count your chickens until they hatch. I've always been superstitious about that. We'll see what happens Saturday. I'm just ready for that to get here so that people can say congratulations and I can say thank you or I don't get it and I just go watch the Ravens play on Sunday.
