CBS's FACE THE NATION is No. 1 Sunday Morning Public Affairs Program in Viewers on 9/4

CBS News' FACE THE NATION was the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for Sept. 4. FACE THE NATION delivered 3.34 million viewers and 0.6/04 in adults 25-54, the demographic most important to those who advertise in news. FACE THE NATION's second half-hour was broadcast contiguously across 78.31% of the CBS affiliates.

FACE THE NATION posted double-digit year-to-year percentage growth in viewers (up +13%, from 2.96m) and adults 25-54 (up +20%, from 0.5/03).

FACE THE NATION is also the #1 Sunday morning public affairs program in viewers television year-to-date, according to Nielsen most current ratings. Television year-to-date, FACE THE NATION delivered 3.67 million viewers (up +11%, from 3.31m compared to last year).

On the Sept. 4 broadcast, the show started with an interview with Gov. Chris Christie (R-NJ), Chairman of the Donald J. Trump for President Transition Team, and an interview with Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ). John Dickerson and CBS News Elections Director Anthony Salvanto then discussed a new CBS News battleground tracker poll showing Hillary Clinton with tight leads in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Dickerson also spoke with former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales about his book, True Faith and Allegiance: A Story of Service and Sacrifice in War and Peace. The political roundtable featured USA Today's Susan Page, Slate and CBS News political analyst Jamelle Bouie, The Atlantic's Molly Ball and National Review's Ramesh Ponnuru.
